Charging Policies
The Local Authority Social Work Department may charge for providing some services. The Local Authority must make information about their charges available to you in their Charging Policy. You can ask your Social Work Department for a copy of this.
When you have an Assessment of your Care Needs, you must also be given full information on charges for any chargeable services you are assessed as needing. However, the exact amount you have to pay will depend upon the outcome of a financial assessment.
If you want detailed information about which care services must be paid for, and how much may be charged, you should consult an experienced advisor, for example, at your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
